![]() Mission Statement:To advance economic development growth and improve the quality of life through community development in Rush County, Indiana by retaining and pursuing industrial, business, agricultural and educational opportunities. Organization Overview:The Rush County Economic & Community Development Corporation (ECDC) was incorporated in 1999 as 501 (c) 4 organization; the Rush County Industrial Development Corporation, its predecessor, had operated prior to this date. ECDC's mission is to advance economic development growth and improve the quality of life in Rush County by retaining and attracting industrial, business, agricultural and educational opportunities. Up until 2004 ECDC had been combined with the Rush County Chamber of Commerce, but it now has its own budget, offices and staff. It modified its bylaws in 2004 to establish a Public-Private Partnership to encourage private industry financial participation and Board involvement while providing economic development services for the City of Rushville and Rush County . ECDC also has employed two (2) professional staff members - its first full-time Executive Director and a Business Development Specialist. Along these same lines, ECDC has initiated the establishment of its own identity with a new logo, and launched its first full-fledged marketing campaign in 2005, and upgraded its Web page. ECDC Strategic Economic Development Goals:The new ECDC bylaws established in 2005 a " public/private partnership" in the further development of an economic development strategy for Rush County . The 2005 ECDC Board of Directors was much more than a voluntary Board; fom that point forward voting members will financially participate, be committed to policy issues, and assist in guiding ECDC to achieve the following five strategic economic development goals:
